Marine Pollution Response

ALPHA BRIGGS MEDITERRANEAN LIMITED offers a cost effective response service to oil and HNS spills, both at the shoreline and even offshore.

The Oil Spill Response Base is available on a 24-hour and 365-day basis, and is capable of dealing with the full spectrum of incidents threatening the environment. By having developed highly professional and efficient response systems, using latest technology with ready-to-go assets and various vessels at our disposal, we may provide the client with a guaranteed mobilisation of resources within 2 hours of call out.

The first role of ALPHA BRIGGS MEDITERRANEAN LIMITED is to verify that an incident has occurred and to independently evaluate the size of the spill, passing important spill information to our Marine Pollution Response Team assembled at our Pollution Incident Centre (PIC). The observation tactical report enables the pollution team and the observer to quickly assess the spill size. A decision regarding a response strategy is then discussed with the client, and the relevant statutory bodies with whom ALPHA BRIGGS has developed sound communication. The Oil Spill Response Base (OSRB) is placed on permanent stand-by throughout surveillance of suspected pollution incidents.

In order to prevent the shoreline from being impacted or to prevent additional contamination, causing increased costs to the Client, the shortest possible mobilisation time is crucial. Tier 2 spill mobilisation is achieved within 2 hours, and response capability may be escalated to Tier 3 within 7 hours through the BRIGGS Group world wide support system. All our personnel are trained, qualified and experienced. Our OSRB has a full range of equipment, and high quality sorbents, oil retention booms, oil skimmers, pumps and tanks, enabling us to contain, recover and dispose of all hazardous and noxious substances. We also provide for the safe and legal disposal of oil, oily materials, or HNS having regard to the requirements of all relevant legislation from time to time in force.
