On the 14 June 2005, AOST organised a Seminar on Thermography in partnership with industry leader FLIR Systems.
Thermography is a tool and an asset to those who would like to know more about their products and systems by looking beneath the surface. Participants for the AOST FLIR seminar came from the Industry which needs tools for Automated Process Monitoring and Predictive Maintenance, and also from Laboratories, Engineering Consultancies, Civil Engineering firms, Restoration Consultancies and Agencies, and from the main Insurance Companies. The event was very well received by all.
Paul Pisani, Director of the AOST Group of companies, explained the various thermography products and services available, namely:
- FLIR Systems Cameras
- Camera leasing
- Inspections, Certification and Reporting using thermographic equipment
- Camera calibration
- Training at AOST's Malta-based ITC-Certified school
The technical part of the seminar dealt with the science and applications of Thermal Imaging, also called Thermography. The technology allows the production of infrared or "heat" pictures by utilising an infrared camera. The participants experienced, at first hand, how through thermal images relieved via the versatile FLIR Systems P65, one can take accurate temperature measurements and detect even the smallest temperature differences.
